Terms of Service.
The rules for using Vronify.chat, in language you can actually read. No walls of defined terms, no clauses designed to be skimmed past. This page is the agreement between you and us. Effective 1 July 2026.
The short version.
Most terms pages are written to protect the company from you. Ours is written so you know exactly where you stand.
Terms of service documents have earned their reputation. They are long, they are vague on purpose, and they usually contain one or two clauses that quietly take something from you: a license to your content, a right to lock your data, an arbitration trap. We wrote these terms the other way around. The numbered sections further down this page are the binding agreement; this summary and the panels below are an honest guide to what they say. If the summary and the full text ever seem to disagree, the full text wins, and we would consider the mismatch a bug worth reporting.
Two things shape everything on this page. First, Vronify.chat is built and operated by a small team in the Netherlands, on hardware we own, in a codebase we wrote ourselves. There is no parent platform, ad network, or data broker whose interests leak into this agreement. Second, we have already made the platform's biggest promises plainly: direct messages are private, so only the people in a conversation see them and staff do not read private conversations, and your account and data stay yours even if we ban you. The terms below mostly write down how those facts play out in practice.

- Stay out of accounts and data that are not yours

The agreement: you, your account, your content.
Sections 1 through 7. Who we are, who can join, and the rules that govern what you post and how you behave.
1. Who we are
Vronify.chat is a community chat platform built and operated from the Netherlands by Vronify, a small team that wrote the platform from scratch and runs it on hardware we own and tune ourselves. These terms are an agreement between you and us. They apply whenever you use the platform: the browser app, this website, and any official mobile or desktop apps we release in the future. When a specific feature has its own rules, such as the vulnerability disclosure process or the community guidelines, those rules are part of this agreement too.
2. Who can use Vronify.chat
You can use the platform if you are legally old enough to agree to a service like this under the law where you live, and if you are not barred from using it by that law. If you create an account on behalf of a company, school, or other organization, you confirm you have the authority to bind it to these terms; in that case "you" means both you and the organization. We may decline to open an account, or close one, where these terms are being violated, and section 8 explains how that works in practice.
3. Your account
You need an account to participate. Keep your credentials to yourself: nobody from Vronify will ever ask for your password, and no legitimate feature requires sharing it. Use a real email address so we can reach you about security events and meaningful changes, and tell us right away through the support channel if you think your account has been compromised. You are responsible for what happens under your account until you report the compromise; after you report it, we work with you to secure it. Your account belongs to you in a strong sense: you can export your data at any time, you control your visibility through your profile settings, and, as the account ownership page explains in detail, no enforcement action we take strips you of access to your own data.
4. Your content
What you write stays yours. You give us the technical permission we need to store your messages, transmit them, and deliver and display them to the people and spaces you sent them to, and nothing more. That permission exists so the platform can function, and it is as narrow as we can make it: we do not claim ownership of your content, we do not sell it, we do not license it to anyone else, and we do not use it for advertising. You can delete your account at any time, which anonymizes it: your name and profile are removed, while the messages you already sent stay in their conversations attributed to a deleted user, as described on the account ownership page.
Two edge cases are worth knowing. Direct messages you received remain visible to you even after the sender leaves or is banned, unless the sender removed them, because those messages were delivered to you and are part of your history. And content you are responsible for is the content you authored: if someone quotes you or replies to you, their message is theirs, and deleting yours does not delete theirs.
5. Privacy, DMs, and public spaces
Privacy on Vronify.chat is a design decision before it is a legal one. Direct messages are private, which means only the people in a conversation see them and we do not read them, and nothing in these terms grants us a right to claim otherwise. Community channels are deliberately visible to their community and its moderators, so that moderators and server owners can keep public spaces safe; that is an honest trade-off, and you should treat public channels as public. We never sell data, never show ads, never read private conversations, and never hold your data hostage. The privacy policy describes exactly what we store and why, and it is written in the same plain language as this page.
6. Acceptable use
Follow the community guidelines in every public space. Beyond the guidelines, a few rules apply everywhere, including in places we cannot see: do not use the platform for anything illegal, do not attack, overload, or disrupt the service, do not scrape or harvest data about other members, do not evade an enforcement action by creating new accounts for the same behavior, and do not try to access accounts or data that are not yours. Individual communities may set stricter rules of their own, and server owners may enforce them within their servers using the moderation tools; the guidelines are the floor, not the ceiling.
7. Security research
We want to hear about vulnerabilities, and we would rather hear about them from you than discover them in an incident. Security researchers acting in good faith should use the vulnerability disclosure process, which we honor: research that stays within that policy will not be treated as a violation of these terms, and we will not pursue legal action over it. Good faith has a plain meaning here. Do not access, modify, or retain other people's data beyond what is needed to demonstrate the issue, do not degrade the service for real users, and do not condition your report on payment. Testing outside those bounds is not research, and section 6 applies to it.

Something gets flagged
A member files a report, a moderator escalates something from their server, or an automated filter flags content in a public space. Reports about DMs can only come from a participant in the conversation, because DMs are private and we do not read them.
A person reviews it in context
Enforcement decisions on Vronify.chat are made by people, not by an algorithm issuing verdicts. We look at what was actually said or done, where it happened, and whether it violates these terms or the guidelines, rather than pattern-matching on keywords.
The response fits the violation
Outcomes are proportionate: a warning for a first mistake, a temporary restriction where behavior needs to stop, a platform ban for serious or repeated violations. Where the law or member safety requires it, we act first and explain after.
Your data stays yours, whatever happens
Even the harshest outcome, a platform ban, only stops participation. You keep your account, every message you ever sent, your export rights, and your right to delete your account. Enforcement is never used as a lever against your data.
8. Bans and enforcement
If you break these terms or the guidelines, we can restrict or ban your account. Two levels exist, and it helps to keep them apart. Server-level moderation is done by the owners and moderators of each community: they can remove you from their server under their own rules, and that decision affects only that server. Platform-level enforcement is done by us, applies to violations of these terms or the guidelines, and can affect your ability to participate anywhere on Vronify.chat. Server owners cannot ban you from the platform, and we do not outsource our decisions to them.
9. What a ban does not take away
A ban removes your ability to participate: you can no longer send messages or join communities. It does not remove your access to your own data. You keep your account, you keep control of every message you ever sent, and you keep the DMs you received, unless the sender removed them. A server ban only removes you from that community, so while you can sign in you can export your data and delete your account exactly as before. On most platforms a ban is a locked door with your belongings behind it; here it is not, and the account ownership page walks through why we built it that way.
10. Leaving, exporting, and deleting
You can stop using Vronify.chat at any time, no notice, no exit process. If you want your history, export your data first; the export is available whenever you can sign in. If you want to disappear, you can delete your account at any time, which anonymizes it: your name and profile are removed, while the messages you already sent stay in their conversations attributed to a deleted user, so other people's conversations stay intact. Deletion cannot be undone, so export anything you want to keep before you use it.

11. The service
We work hard to keep the platform fast and available, and we publish our track record on the status page rather than asking you to take our word for it. Still, we provide the service as it is, without guarantees of uninterrupted availability. Hardware fails, maintenance happens, and honest terms say so. We may change or discontinue features, and when a change matters we will say so in the changelog. Features we describe as coming soon, such as the bot engine and the mobile and desktop apps, are plans we are actively building, not contractual promises with delivery dates; the browser app, with nothing to install, is the service you are agreeing to use today.
12. Pricing
Core features are free, and they stay free. We plan optional extras for power users later, and if something ever costs money, it will say so clearly before you commit, not after. We will not move features you already rely on behind a surprise paywall, and nothing about your data, your export, or your erasure rights is ever paid. If our pricing ever changes in a way that affects you, that counts as a change that matters under section 11, and you will hear about it in advance.
13. Third-party links and content
Communities share links, and messages on the platform will point to places we do not run. Content behind those links is not ours, we do not vet it, and these terms do not cover it. Apply the same judgment you would anywhere else on the internet, and if a link shared on the platform is being used for something the guidelines prohibit, such as scams or malware, report it: the link is external, but the behavior of sharing it is not.
14. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms in a way that affects you, we will announce it on the platform with reasonable notice before it takes effect, in plain language, with the effective date stated up front the way it is at the top of this page. Continuing to use Vronify.chat after that date means you accept the updated terms. If you do not accept them, stop using the platform before the effective date; your export and erasure rights work as normal, so you can leave with your data or without a trace, whichever you prefer. We will not use a terms update to quietly take rights in your content or your data; the commitments in sections 4, 5, and 9 are the reason this platform exists.
15. Liability
We provide the service as it is and as it is available. To the maximum extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses, lost profits, or damage caused by things outside our control, and content posted by members is the responsibility of the people who post it. This is the standard shape of a liability clause, and we will not pretend otherwise; what we can say honestly is that we run the platform as if this clause did not exist, on our own hardware, with our uptime published. Nothing in these terms limits rights that the law of your country gives you as a consumer and that cannot be waived by contract.
16. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of the Netherlands, where we are based. If you use Vronify.chat as a consumer, mandatory consumer protections of the country you live in still apply to you and are not taken away by this section. If we ever have a dispute, talk to us first: nearly everything that could go wrong between you and us is faster to fix over the support channel than in any formal process, and we read what you send.

Is the short version at the top legally binding?
The numbered sections are the agreement; the summary and panels are an accurate guide to them. We wrote both, so they should never conflict, and the summary makes no promise the full text does not keep. If you ever spot a mismatch, the full text wins, and we would genuinely like to hear about it through support so we can fix the wording.
What exactly happens to my data if I get banned?
Nothing, and that is the design. A server ban stops participation in that community. Your account stays yours, every message you sent stays under your control, and the DMs you received stay readable unless the sender removed them. While you can sign in, you can export your data and delete your account exactly as before, and deleting anonymizes your account rather than erasing the messages you already sent. The account ownership page covers this in full.
Can Vronify read my direct messages?
As a matter of policy, no. DMs are private, so only the people in a conversation see them and Vronify staff do not read them, and no clause in these terms grants us a right to. Community channels are different on purpose: they are visible to their community and its moderators, so moderators can keep public spaces safe. The practical rule is simple: DMs are private, and public channels are public.
Do you sell my data or use my messages for advertising?
No. We never sell data, never show ads, and never use your content for advertising. There are zero trackers, ads, or data brokers on the platform, and the permission you grant us over your content in section 4 is limited to storing and delivering it to the people you sent it to. Our income model is the opposite of an ad platform's: core features free forever, optional extras for power users later, no surprise paywalls.
Can a server owner ban me from all of Vronify.chat?
No. Server owners and moderators run their own communities and can remove you from their server under their own rules, and that decision reaches no further than that server. Platform-level enforcement is done only by us, only for violations of these terms or the community guidelines. Being unwelcome in one community and being banned from the platform are different things, decided by different people.
What does providing the service "as it is" mean for me?
It means we do not contractually guarantee the platform will never go down, because no honest service can. What we do instead is publish the record: 99.9% uptime across the last 12 months, visible on the status page, on hardware we own and tune ourselves. You get transparency about how the service actually performs rather than a guarantee we could not keep, and section 15 keeps whatever consumer rights your local law gives you fully intact.
How will I know if these terms change?
We announce meaningful changes on the platform itself, with reasonable notice before they take effect, and the effective date at the top of this page always tells you which version you are reading. Continuing to use the platform after the effective date means you accept the update. If you do not, you can leave before it takes effect, with a full export of your data or with your account deleted, your choice.
I run a community. Do these terms cover my members too?
Every member agrees to these terms individually when they create an account, so you are not legally responsible for what your members post; section 15 places that responsibility with the author. What you do control is your own space: your rules, your roles and permissions, and your enforcement inside the server. The owner handbook and the moderation guide cover how to run that well.
